Africa, a Growth Driver to Consider for Franchising
Demographic growth, booming e-commerce, rapid urbanization... Africa is emerging as an unmissable land of opportunity for franchise networks.

The African continent is currently one of the most dynamic and promising territories for brands seeking expansion. This potential is driven by a combination of favorable economic, demographic, and technological factors:
- Sustained economic growth, estimated at +3.7% in 2024,
- A rapidly growing population expected to reach 2.5 billion people by 2050, with 60% under the age of 25,
- Rapid urbanization, with nearly 100 cities exceeding one million inhabitants,
- The emergence of a middle class of over 300 million consumers,
- A booming e-commerce sector, fueled by widespread mobile adoption and innovations in logistics.
A clear ambition to structure the franchise ecosystem in Africa
Our actions are built around three main pillars:
- Training African entrepreneurs in franchising, to help them embrace this model and implement it locally under optimal conditions,
- Fostering the development of the franchise ecosystem in each country across the continent by strengthening skills, support structures, and professional networks,
- Encouraging the rise of African franchisors, going beyond the development of franchisees or master franchisees, in order to create strong, exportable brands from Africa.
Concrete actions to support this momentum
To support this long-term movement, we are deploying a series of complementary initiatives:
- Physical and digital events (trade shows, webinars, industry meetings) to inform, connect, and engage sector stakeholders,
- Training programs for entrepreneurs, project holders, and experts wishing to specialize in franchising,
- Targeted communication campaigns to recruit franchise candidates and raise awareness of the brands present or seeking to establish themselves on the continent,
- Connecting franchisors with potential franchisees through qualified, personalized, and multicultural mechanisms,
- Training African franchise experts capable of supporting networks locally over the long term.
